In general, annual limits apply per financial year (1 July through to 30 June) and are the maximum amounts you can claim within a financial year for the services or items within the particular category. Some services also have a sub-category limit which restricts the amount you can claim (e.g. Orthodontics).
Once the annual limit has been reached, no further benefits are payable for those services until the next financial year. As long as the services are provided by an approved health practitioner in private practice a benefit will be made available up to the annual limit.
