Your Defence Health card enables your extras benefit to be paid directly to dentists, optometrists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, psychologists, acupuncturists, dietitians, naturopaths, osteopaths, remedial massage therapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists who display the HICAPS or IBA Health logo.
To have your claim processed in seconds, you simply swipe your membership card after the services have been provided. The appropriate benefit for your level of cover is automatically credited to the health care provider, so you only need to pay the difference (if any) between the service cost and the benefit. It is fast, convenient and there are no claim forms to fill in.
To claim your benefit by post, download and complete a claim form, attach your original accounts or receipts and post them to us.
Australian Defence Credit Union (ADCU) branches are authorised to fax your completed claim form and receipts directly to us. If you submit your paid claims before 3:00pm EST, we can credit your benefit payment directly to your nominated bank, building society or credit union account on the next working day. The original claim form, receipts and accounts will be forwarded to us on your behalf. ADCU provides this service regardless of whether or not you are an ADCU customer.
