Who can join Defence Health
You may either be eligible in your own right or you may have a family relationship with someone who is eligible.

You are eligible in your own right to join Defence Health if you:
- are a serving member of the permanent ADF
- are a serving member of the ADF Reserve
- are a former member of the ADF
- are a current - or former - employee of the Department of Defence, or other government departments that assist or advise Defence
- are a current – or former – contractor to the Department of Defence
- are a current – or former - employee of a company or agency contracted to the Department of Defence where you are or were involved in the supply of goods or services to Defence
- were a member of Defence Health on 12 October 2007

If you are related to someone eligible on the left you can join Defence Health too. By 'related' we mean:
- Spouse or partner
- Former spouse or partner
- Dependent child
- Adult child (or their partner or dependent child)
- Sister or brother (or their partner or dependent child)
- Mother or father
- Grandchild
