Claudia’s career journey

Claims team member to Provider Relations Consultant

Defence Health has a great career support system and I'm a good example of that. I had no health insurance background, I am now able to work on my own and handle queries from internal and external stakeholders.  I started off in the Hospital Claims team which was a challenge. It was completely different from what I knew and it was out of my comfort zone. I had a great team, with their support I was quick to catch on to the work. When the Provider Relations role became available, I saw it as a perfect fit. I was lucky enough to be selected for the position.

Defence Health has amazing leaders who constantly encourage you and want you to move forward. I believe I have always challenged myself and did my very best in everything I aimed to do and met some amazing people/role models along the way. It’s very important to keep challenging yourself, so don't be afraid to take that leap.
